I'll let the pictures speak for me.

Oh, show! ♥♥♥

There was much to love about this.

5.03 spoilers and a wee screencap )

Now... to finish [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang edits /o\ Just a few more pages! And a couple more hours until it's officially the 26th everywhere.

aesc: (geeks with guns)
Yay, you're back!

I posted a few caps here in a locked post when the episode sneaked online a few weeks early. Unlocked now! No real commentary tonight, because I usually feel vaguely lame writing commentary, and also, I'm up early to go sailing tomorrow. Nautical!

a few select moments from 5.01, aka, o hai, David's biceps )

In other news: Oh, man :/ But still, sailing. I haven't been on a boat in ages.
aesc: (astro!John)
I am posting these because I have no restraint.

no preview, no commentary, just pictures )

I am kind of crummy-feeling today, victim to the most recent campus-wide virus and general exhaustion following two weeks of (IMHO) very unnecessary stress.

But I was thinking over one thing last night before the cough medicine kicked in, and then I thought about it this morning while slogging through the rain/sleet/snow to class.

happy S4-related, McKay/Sheppard-centric thought )
aesc: (umbrella on a sunny day)
Aimless ruminations, of the not-bitchy sort.

again: spoiler )

In conclusion, as inspired by [livejournal.com profile] tardis80: I love that my show is imperfect. I love that its imperfection allows me to imagine and play, and engage in a different kind of criticism that isn't excavating information from obscure sources or defending a theoretical orientation. I love that it's brought together a fandom that, in its better moments, is enthusiastic and intelligent and passionate and can engage with the material in such a way that it addresses those imperfections at a number of levels.

So again, yeah. There you go.

Now, back to grading papers.
aesc: (aesc)
I need your help! Venture it only, though, if you are willing to be spoiled for some bits of "Miller's Crossing."

John Sheppard: guerilla clotheshorse? )
aesc: (yes and yes)
We interrupt [livejournal.com profile] aesc's comprehensive nervous breakdown to bring you more important sartorial spoilers for 4.09 "Miller's Crossing," and to give [livejournal.com profile] aesc a break from freaking out.

asdlkjdflkjf! < the good kind of keyboardsmash )

In other news: Thank you so much to all of you who nominated some of my stuff for McShep Awards! And also on behalf of [livejournal.com profile] dogeared and [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon, partners in crime in UPS!John and leather-jacket!Rodney :) :)

Now, I am going to go back to my psychotic break. Reality = DO NOT WANT.

aesc: (mmm nice [sheppard])
Hokay! I'm still really annoyed with myself at forgetting to upload my Doppelganger stuff before I left, but I am so dedicated that I watched the episode again and pulled more caps and wrote up ficturespam for it. Yesh, such hardship I endure... But seriously, HOW AWESOME was this episode?

*sacrifices firstborn to Robert Cooper*

On the images: Some of these are experiments in color and lighting correction, so they may not match the color/lighting you remember from the episode. (I love my show, I really, really do, but the color filters drive me a bit nuts.) As is the case with all of my ficturespams, any/all graphics are free for the taking, and for whatever nefarious purpose you can devise.

Also, there are a few icons at the end.

not a night goes by )

[livejournal.com profile] dogeared and I have inducted the SGA crew into the Black Dog Club. Why, you ask?

here's why! )

Also, there is Joe M.'s not-so-subtle mancrush on Joe Flanigan. I warn thee, fangirls, do not be operating the heavy machinery or performing surgery while watching this clip.

in which Joe skateboards into the sunset and looks nice and long and lean while doing so

*goes back to being hypnotized*
aesc: (yes and yes)
From Joe Mallozzi's blog, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] tx_tart, though she was so overcome she didn't post these :> They are, coincidentally, cropped to avoid character spoilers, though in the second one you do learn how long Mystery Character's hair is. (It was unavoidable! I needed the hand!)

Clearly there is a god, because s/he got the roommate & guests out of the house for the evening.

ETA: Now there are four of them. (All cropped for spoilers.)

large versions )

this is why I love my fandom. )

I got, oh, almost nothing done of what I needed to get done tonight. Reading is finished, which is always important (and I might actually get everything read by my exam date), but, um, the fic? She didn't go so well.

Neither did graphics stuff. I started out intending to redo my userinfo with something pretty, but ended up being sidetracked into drafting icons. In the interests of feeling productive, and because they have given me much to smile about for the past several hours despite the complete lack of said productivity, I post said drafts here.

Oh, David and Joe, what you do to me. *flails modestly*

In other news: Insomnia. Strikes. Again. If you're on MSN, feel free to bother me... I'll be good for the next hour, I think. (aesc36 @ gmail.com)

ETA: Oh yeah, I did write this, but I don't know if it counts.
aesc: (mmm nice [sheppard])
Earlier tonight, [livejournal.com profile] dogeared melted my brain a little, and then [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon asked for picspam. So I bring you another dual-themed picspam: Joe Flanigan in civvies (so if you see Sheppard, you won't see the black t-shirt) and the many and wonderful expressions of David Hewlett, mostly Rodney but with some other stuff tossed in.

For the record, I was supposed to do reading tonight.

out of uniform )

And now, Rodney!

a lovely thing to see )

[Note: I'll be updating with comments as I go; I wanted to get this posted before too late! But before I go:

Request: Doing this has made me realize I have a deplorable lack of images of SGA actors out of their Atlantis gear. If there's something you don't see that you believe I must have and can't live without, please find some way to direct me to it! The icon-maker in me will be forever grateful, and the picspammer will too.]

Also, I have got all my [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang stuff turned in. Yeah, uh-huh. *grooves*
aesc: (Default)
There are two impulses behind this picspam, which itself has two foci.

1: Between the ineffable suckiness of yesterday and the fact that my stock collection has become woefully thin in terms of images I haven't used, I decided it would be a good idea to start going through my DVDs and pulling caps as a way to cheer myself up and be productive. I started off with SGA S1 "Rising," and it occurred to me that "Rising" has Rodney in his orange fleece. Those of you who know me know I love Rodney in his orange fleece. A good portion of the caps from both parts of "Rising" are of Rodney in his orange fleece.

2: While taking a break from work earlier today, I was hunting around my stock collection for some icons for [livejournal.com profile] flyakate (which made me realize how woefully thin said collection is), and I was thinking about [livejournal.com profile] dogeared's and my recent exchange over John in a turtleneck and how it would drive Rodney up the wall, and so I decided, hey, I did the slink, so now it's time for some neck porn.

(It goes without saying that this is very image-heavy.)

So, pick your poison:

ETA6 to substitute!

come curl up while I explain some things )

is it hot in here, or is it just me? )

ETA: Now with vaguely pornographic but very hot musings on various McKay and Sheppard body parts and how they might interact here, here, and here.

ETA2: [livejournal.com profile] chopchica has written fleece and neck-inspired porn. Go and reeeead eeet!

ETA3: [livejournal.com profile] sunnyd_lite has written Rodney obsessing while John shaves. Featuring a straight razor and towel riding on John's hips.

ETA4: [livejournal.com profile] lovbrick has written sorta-geisha!John! Eee! Read it read it read it!

ETA5: The awesomeness continues with [livejournal.com profile] ladycat777's ficlet, in which Jeannie sees Rodney's radioactively orange fleece and much cuddling and awwwww ensue.

I love picspams! People write things because of them :)

In completely unrelated news: I just signed up for MSN the better to communicate with [livejournal.com profile] smilla02, but if anyone wants to talk, I'm aesc36 @gmail.com when I remember to sign on.
aesc: (mmm nice [sheppard])
While tossing together an icon salad and musing over a recent conversation with [livejournal.com profile] chebonne, I realized that I have a large amount of slinky!John lying around my hard drive. In the spirit of preschool, I thought I'd share. This is my first-ever picspam, I do believe, so I hope you likes it.

As to content, there's nothing particularly spoilery, just lots of black-shirted slinkyness.

What is slinkyness, you ask?

Get schooled )

eta: another cap added! Yay for slinky leaning and obsessive fellow fangirls.
