.sga 5.01: oh show!
Yay, you're back!
I posted a few caps here in a locked post when the episode sneaked online a few weeks early. Unlocked now! No real commentary tonight, because I usually feel vaguely lame writing commentary, and also, I'm up early to go sailing tomorrow. Nautical!
How to start an episode:

This look, right here, is why I love John Sheppard in this episode so much. I would have his babies if my uterus hadn't combusted, oh, at the beginning of the episode. This look, this moment, is everything that makes him who he is: he respects Carter, but that respect only goes so far, and it stops at that huge, undefinable thing that team is for him.

Santa, Buddha, and Jesus, I want this. Right here. Thank you and sincerely, amen. Paralyzing "oh my god, pregnant woman in labor" awkwardness aside, Rodney was great in this episode--pushing Jennifer to go look at Lorne instead of him, soldiering through repairs, pulling himself together for Teyla, being a soldier to keep her safe. This is why you want Rodney McKay on your side, people.

*ASPLODE*
Overall? I like. I liiiiike.
In other news: Oh, man :/ But still, sailing. I haven't been on a boat in ages.

That bit with the baby inna jumper was awesomesauce. And I loved Ronon, with his not leaving John and his "You don't have to do everything yourself" and his carrying Teyla. *glee*

I agree with every molecule of your entry. Plus Ronon being all caretake-y of John.

Absolutely!
You know, with 50% of his team (and therefore his chosen family) being at home in the Pegasus-galaxy and now having held Teyla's newborn son in his arms while rescuing the whole team from the heart of enemy territory - by using the enemy's technology, of all things *g* - I sincerely doubt that he'll ever go back to earth permanently willingly. There's nothing back on earth calling to him but *everything* he has is on Atlantis and in Pegasus.
And I can't help but loving the constellation of the newborn, most vulnerable "member" of the core-team being rescued by the team leader utilizing the very "tool" the enemy invented to harvest "food" ... it has a certain beauty to it, doesn't it? *G*
