The fandom has been waaaay too quiet this year (with good reason but...)

*sigh* All too true.

What we need to do is get slashers on the inside, somehow... If a few of us can insinuate ourselves in Jerry Bruckheimer's bed the upper echelons of various studios, maybe we'll get, like... I dunno. More subtext, at least. (Though I must say "Over the Tracks" sent me away gabbling helplessly to myself. V. gratifying.)
