.icons!

Yes yes yes, I'm slow and lame. But [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon presented me with this which is part of this and there went my productivity for the evening.

Seriously, how is he so beautiful? Once I have more icons to make it worthwhile, I'll repost these at [livejournal.com profile] discolore, but in the meantime, feel free to take whatever you'd like. Commenting is lovely, because... well, it's Joe. And he's pretty. And I like to talk about how pretty he is.

(Also, for those of you who have read Phi, this is model!John. Yes.)

In other news: Did I just not say there went my productivity?? On the other hand, I now have an idea for my second prompt for [livejournal.com profile] paintedspires \o/

He's so absolutely lovely.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Eeeee, thank you! *snorfles!!*

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
SO SO SO PRETTY BEEEJ.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
*sighs sloppily* He really, really is.

[identity profile] loves-bitch.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
How is he just so lovely?

I love the "life" one.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
How is he just so lovely?

I very sincerely believe it is one of the Millennium Questions, where if you solve it, you get a million dollars.

I love the "life" one.

Thank you! [livejournal.com profile] beadattitude remarked that, unlike a lot of the other men Russo photographed, Joe's face is worn and intense and lived-in and has so much personality... life and Life, if you will :)

[identity profile] tardis80.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
He's just so beautiful. I'm definitely taking one, and when I figure out which icons to discard, I'll credit. eee!

[identity profile] kimberweeme.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
And there I was, thinking how I was going to have to try to tear my icon-making friend away from Eddie Izzard and force beg her to make me an icon. Now you've gone and done a lovely, lovely job of it!

I had an encounter with The Rudest Patron Ever today. Beautiful, beautiful, worn, real Joe was a welcome surprise. I need a Joe of my own to make every day gorgeous.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
asdl;kjdflkdjf he IS. Oh my god.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! Joe really icons himself sometimes *siiiigh*

Beautiful, beautiful, worn, real Joe was a welcome surprise.

Meeeep, yis yis. "Worn" and "beautiful" describe him so perfectly.

I had an encounter with The Rudest Patron Ever today.

I saw that. Clearly the library's failure to properly label its location is all your fault. I hope that burns. :D

[identity profile] kimberweeme.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
You know what made the whole experience even better? After all this running around I'd done to find the item, and all this yelling she'd done because I wouldn't go out and bolt a street sign to the traffic light, she called back not 20 minutes later to say she had decided she didn't want the item after all.

ARGH! CURSE HER!

*deploys SMITE icon on your behalf*

Your efforts are highly appreciated. ;)

The idea of this being model!John made me overwhelmingly happy. I like that Joe's face (and a handful of the rest at the site) look a lived-in sort of pretty, like a well-loved paperback that you always have with you.

I know I need one of these (because more John icons is always a plus) but can't tear myself away from "his eyes! his pointy hair! his little face!" to choose.

I think there was a decided dip in everyone's productivity tonight due to the hotness. ;o)

Oh, I am running away with number two. Jooooooooooe.

[identity profile] gaffsie.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
These are lovely, just like Joe himself. I love the "Life" one, because it's so true. He's marked by life and made all the more beautiful by it.

Lovely! Your icons are always great.

(I made one too. Nothing artistic, though.)

[identity profile] hestia-lacey.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty beyond words indeed. And lovely icons too :)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!! Joe really does bring the pretty :)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! And I think Joe is always artistic :D

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
He's marked by life and made all the more beautiful by it.

Yis yis yis!! *sloppy sigh*

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
We have our model!John now, Siris! \o/

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay, thank you! I ran across those two textures by accident today and I'm very happy I did :D

*licks your pretty, disheveled John's neck*

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much!! :)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I like that Joe's face (and a handful of the rest at the site) look a lived-in sort of pretty

Yes, exactly! There's so much personality there, my screen almost sings with it.

I think there was a decided dip in everyone's productivity tonight due to the hotness. ;o)

Heh heh, every time I think I've accepted how beautiful he is, I look again and I can feel my brain going CANNOT COMPUTE.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I do what I can :D Hopefully she will have a piano fall on her.

I love to think of him doing this kind of shot for a v. v. widespread ad campaign. Billboards, everywhere. kajajkhgg *falls over*

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
*falls right over* Signs in airports! At subway and tube stations! In magazines! EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK THERE HE IS.

Oh oh *flails* And this is what Rodney sees when he's driving down to the interview! And he'd make some soft, sexually-frustrated, wanting sound and Radek would snicker at him.
siria: (Default)

[personal profile] siria 2008-03-30 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
And afterwards, when the interview (the weekend) is over, and John has to fly to Tokyo and Rodney has to try his best not to get fired by Elizabeth, everywhere Rodney goes he sees him: driving down the 10 or darting into Starbucks in the morning, there's John's face.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
When Elizabeth asks how it is an interview Rodney threw a tantrum over being compelled (coerced, Rodney corrects, I was forced) ended up taking the entire weekend, and why Radek was the one to tell her Rodney was staying for "a follow-up" and couldn't say it without cackling madly, Rodney ignores her. Either that or he doesn't hear her because he's too busy listening to the voice of reality (which is depressing, but much more insistent) saying that John's a whole day ahead of him, moving on, and clearly this whole thing is an aberration.
siria: (Default)

[personal profile] siria 2008-03-30 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
But then the next day, his Blackberry vibrates with a message from an address he's never seen before. And when he opens it, there's an attachment of a picture of Tokyo seen through the rain from a high-up hotel room, and a brief message that says "don't wish you were here. wish i was there."

Rodney's mouth quirks, and he replies with a screed on the importance of capitalisation and the perils of unhygienically prepared sushi and how Radek this morning had actually had to take pictures of a kitten who'd fallen down a well--and he finishes it with "Do you know when you'll next me back in L.A.? RM", which he feels is quite possibly the definition of nonchalance.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
John replies ten minutes later with a reminder on the importance of spelling ('me,' McKay? and u rite 4 a living???) that makes Rodney wince in humiliation and swell up in indignation, but then he collapses into disappointment when John tells him he has to go to Thailand for three days and Syndney for another three.

But then: "back in LA next week. I'll call you," and to cover up his relief Rodney fires off a rant on how people who use netspeak have no business criticizing people who, apart from the occasional typo, are paragons of proper spelling and grammar. He hits send and tells himself he is not going to do anything so ridiculous as count days and hours, and also, that he's not going to spend the next seven days, ten hours, and thirty-two minutes grinning like an idiot.

*falls down*

GUH

[identity profile] fractalreality.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
These are great; there's something comforting in how *real* he looks compared to the others.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
\o/ That's what we're looking for!

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! And yes, yes, unlike a lot of the others he's so unpolished, so lived-in... I just love that :)

[identity profile] nameitlater.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
*stares*

I want to keep him.

[identity profile] pollitt.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Oh these are gorgeous *applauds*

And Joe proves to be a wonderful inspiration (natch :)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!! God, I just want to lick him all over :D

[identity profile] mary-russell11.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I HAVE read Phi and it really made me unproductive/unresponsive/a drooling mess for the rest of that day...the lyrical imagery alone made me vewy, vewy jealous of your writing...besides admiration towards the author, that is *g* but to add a real picture to my other mental ones...that is SO unfair...I'm back to being useless because I am staring at my comp and thinking about a paparazzi career so that I could take pictures of Joe alllllll day long(and have a non-stalkerish reason for it *g*) *congratulates you and goes back to drooling*

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! Siri and I had a great time writing it, even before we learned that such a thing as The Picture of Joe Flanigan existed. But it's nice to know that our imaginations were inadequate to reality because, wow, is he beautiful.
