I'm pretty sure that as soon as Cas and Dean got out of that house and out of earshot, Cas just sagged and looked at Dean, and maybe he didn't actually say it but there was definitely an air of "I can't believe I just did that!" about him. He talked smack to an archangel and lived to tell the tale!
