If I have drywall land on me, I will be deeply unhappy, especially as I'd been planning to take the day off to devote it to Book 7 and writing stuff *grumblecakes* Stupid house.
And John wears SHORTS in the summer and he's all tanned from driving around with the door open (if, indeed, UPS trucks have doors . . . I have never really answered that to my satisfaction) and he leaves kitty treats with catnip in them for the cat who sits at the window and an assortment of strange toys for Rodney. A pencil from the Supreme Court with a double ended eraser like a gavel. A small Happy Meal poweranger. Two juggling balls. Once, a potato.

The ones I've seen have been doorless, though this might not be uniformly true. Maybe it depends what part of the country they're in? I would hate to be a UPS driver in Maine during the winter.
and an assortment of strange toys for Rodney.
And Rodney, attempting to figure out who's responsible for the potato and actual 1980s Transformer on his front step, lies in wait one day instead of ignoring the doorbell like he usually does (or spending all day at work).
And throws back the door with an almighty "HA!" and a very pleased finger wag . . . only to find the most delicious delivery man he's ever seen standing on the other side of the door, smirking. Smirking.
We have fireworks too! Or did... They just stopped, which is good, because the Cowardly Dog was freaking out.
I would go to the festivities if there was someone I wanted to go WITH, particularly, but meh.
The roommate doesn't get the whole fan thing, and I don't think there's anyone here I know who'd go, either :/ I went to the Book 5 release, which was fun, but I was with a ton of other people and that made it more fun than waiting in line would otherwise be.
Would you like to talk of John and Rodney? *g*
There is much John and Rodney to be had here now :D
Nah. I thought about it a few weeks ago, but when the book leaked, I read all the spoilers, then started reading it myself. I just couldn't help it! The fun of being in line with people is to speculate, and it's no fun if you already know the punchline and can't share it. ;)
I got into the books after book 4 was already out, and I don't even remember what I did for book 5. But last year I went to the midnight release party with my siblings and cousins, and it was a whole lot of fun - we dressed up as wizards trying to be Muggles! *g* That evening of shenanigans was so much more fun than the book itself, haha. Alas, I am working for the summer at school and there is no one here to get their flail on with me!
