.ficlink & reminders of why life is good

So this weekend has kind of sucked. The house karma has been terrible this year, and also, while I feel okay as far as other RL-related things go, I'm still stressed and generally irritated with people/things/reality.

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon is hosting a hush comment challenge, for those of us who love to read about boys and uninterrupted sleep. (Both boys and uninterrupted sleep are, sadly, lacking in my life right now.) My contribution is a little bit of Roomies!verse fic, in which Rodney overdoes it when it comes to work.

Also, I put together a very small picspam of things that make me happy, because it's good to remind yourself of these things.

(properly grilled, with lemon and a little garlic... mmm, mahi-mahi)

TURKEYS!!!!

and, of course...

Now, I am going to go feed my black dog and get some of this:

.now, come to think of it: Possibly followed up by this:

And then, you know, go back to work. Which I don't like at the moment. *siiigh*

.eta: As [livejournal.com profile] dogeared points out, it's good to be reminded of these things. It's easy to forget, at least for me, the things in my life I think are tremendously cool, interesting, or just silly... I tend to spend a lot of my time bitching, which is fun in its own right, but still, there's something to be said for an unqualified "Isn't this cool, now?"

So, you know, do one for yourself, if you're so inclined :D It is fun. (Though the act of the picspam is also something I like *g*)

Roommate is currently trying to teach me, and I kind of suck so far, but I think once I get the hang of it, it'll be a nice way to procrastinate pass the time :D

And eee!! Snuggly boys!

So far I can only do the single crochet stitch, and that only with much concentration. The ladies at work are convinced I would be able to pick up knitting, but I think they're all crazy. It's taken several roommates to get me up to passable crocheting!

As I can only crochet while watching old episodes of SGA and House, this is clearly a form of intense procrastination for me. I can't even pretend otherwise.

Also, it's nasty and rainy outside, I work until the library closes and I have training tomorrow. I would dearly love an orange-fleeced Rodney and a messy-haired John to snuggle with.
