.ficlink: Threadbare (Nantucket)

Oh hai! [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve and I have written a bit of Nantucket fic over at [livejournal.com profile] wagoneer: Threadbare, in which there is a hoodie and woobie!Rodney and lots of old pizza boxes.

I am still kind of full from Thanksgiving yesterday, but that isn't stopping me from spending an afternoon at the coffeeshop, munching on warm multigrain bread and guzzling coffee.

Also, there is SNOW. We had a white Thanksgiving, with proper, sticking-and-accumulating SNOW. *runs around in excitement* It's melted somewhat today, but the little tree outside my office window still has a bit of snow on it, and when I brushed off my car the snow was all wet and clumpy, which I love because I can push it off the car in huge chunks, and the snow makes this kind of shunsh sound when it slides down the side of the car and hits the concrete.

YES, I'm a bit weird. Like you didn't know this.

.eta: Okay, this has been driving me NUTS and I can't take it anymore! These days, whenever someone on my flist (or myself, for that matter) is linking to an outside site, I get this profoundly annoying little pop-up that tries to show me what I'm letting myself in for if I click the link. (Since these are usually to fics or pages involving text, and I can't read the .005-pt font in the little pop-up window, they're kind of useless.) How in God's name do I get rid of it? Can I get rid of it? *vexed*

.eta2: Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jb_slasher and [livejournal.com profile] acari for helping out a slightly maddened [livejournal.com profile] aesc.

This might help?

Hurrah! It worked, precious! Thank you so much for directing me there.

Man, what a completely useless innovation. *eyeroll*

More Nantucket boys! \o/

The preview windows are nasty. I killed them dead the first chance I got. I made a post a while back about methods how to get rid of them. It's here (http://acari.livejournal.com/306984.html).

Oh, yay, thank you! I think at one point I actually went to Viewing Options to see what was what, but I was also annoyed at the time, which guaranteed I would look right at "Preview Graphic On/Off?" and not see it at all, so I gave up :D

I've heard that coffee and toast are very good for soaking up turkey.

What's this snow thing you speak of? We're just entering summer here. BBQ's, asparagus and summer ale... That's how you look forward to December! ;)

No, silly, that's how you look forward to June ;)

*misses BBQs*

Boulder Coffee on Alexander Street has been voted Best Coffee in Rochester. They are a nice little neighborhood place (parking sucks).

Oh, that's good to know! I'm not sure when I'll be back in town for more than a night--I'll be driving through in December, though I can't stay--but I'm going to see if I can't take a micro-vacation there in spring or summer :D

which I love because I can push it off the car in huge chunks, and the snow makes this kind of shunsh sound when it slides down the side of the car and hits the concrete

OMG I love that sound! ♥ It's one of my favourite winter sounds. Not that I have a car. Or snow (I don't know what the snow sitch is like hereabouts yet). But the sound of clumpy snow shunshing (I love your word for the sound!) off things in general is such a happy sound.

*scampers off to read Nantucket hoodie!fic*

Yay! I hate brushing off my car when it's dry, powdery snow, because it gets all over the place (under my scarf, on my jeans, up my coatsleeve), but wet snow is the best! shunsh!

These links are as manna from heaven, being more comprehensive (OmniWeb! yay!) than ones I'd stumbled across before. But I really feel obligated to point out, um, this (http://sheafrotherdon.livejournal.com/195023.html?thread=9965519#t9965519). ::cough:: It just seemed so right, you see.
