*love*
Am posting this to the world at large because I wanted to include the anonymous really wonderful person who gave me hot cocoa (with marshmallows) alongside
dancink's awesome motivational card and also to say that Rodney (perhaps in apology for stealing my grey pants) had
sheafrotherdon and
dogeared send me his orange fleece!

I can personally attest that it is very bright orange, cuddly, and covers my wrists, which are things all good orange fleeces should be and do.
And also, I really really wanted to say thank you to everyone who's left comments from the Saga of the Shattered Window (sequel forthcoming *eyeroll*) and for being, oh, pretty much you. My real life is by no means as stressful or horror-inducing as those of other people, and I'm thankful that overall my year tends to fall on the good side in terms of no severe injury/illness/death/loss, but what stress there has been has kind of come all at once and in ways I'm not really equipped to deal with.
But you all are you, flist and anonymous people alike, and it's really... well, for a person who's been shy and asocial all her life, to know you in any capacity, whether it's real life or digital, has been so phenomenally wonderful I can't hope to say how phenomenally wonderful, or what it means to me, and I hope I can repay the kindness and general awesomeness you all have shown me.
So, yes. *snuffle* Will stop being maudlin now :)

Here's a quote from Balzac that I feel sums up my thinking right now:
"The ordinariness of human lives can never be a measure of the effort it takes to keep them going."

Also, maudlining at the flist is always welcome - that's what we're here for! I think we've all found a little bit of belonging here on the ol' ElJay, and it's definitely something to be thankful for.
*smishes you and your Rodney-orange fleecie*

You know, I like my RL friends and colleagues a lot, but every person I've met through the El has, without exception, been absolutely amazing if we ever had the opportunity to meet in person, and it's so weird thinking that if we didn't have it (or the Internet for that matter), we'd kind of go along not knowing that there are really tremendously cool people we'd love to meet living in Europe and the Southwest and South America and the South Pacific, wherever.

I thought about you at the hockey game tonight. Okay, well, Nantucket!John&Rodney making out but then you. The point is, it made me happy. Because of how you are awesome and stuff. ;)
So, you know, back atcha. ♥

Also, am madly jealous of the Rodney!fleece. It looks so cuddly and you look so cuddled and adorable. ♥

Your repayment would be to continue to be you, the good and the bad, continue to write lovely and hot and porny fics and share with us all. That's what we're all here for, to share. I'm quite shy myself and really cherish the relationships I've found on LJ.

Knowing YOU is phenomenally wonderful.

And yay cool cards! *big hugs* Roommate was all "Who do you know in Australia?" and I was *mysterious look* until I read it and laughed. Oh, Radek, keeping the minions' spirits up while Rodney tries to crush them :D

And yes, Radek has over the years developed a system to raise moral despite Rodney's efforts to crush them all like the intellectually inferior weaklings they are. It involves charts. And pilfered chocolate.

(Though if you want one more, I am slowly working on an adaptation of "Rocketship" that might enable it to be read.)

and whenever there's an adaption og Rocketship, i'd love to recording it. :)

(But, shhh! It's a secret!)
Even though you know that other people are going through much more than you are, what you're experiencing is just as horrible. Because it's happening to you and you're the one who has to deal. Don't feel guilty for stressing, but remember things like friends who send you a cozy orange fleece, and go about the day!

He does, he does! And that definitely overcomes deeply-rooted college rivalries :D And I won't tell anyone ;)

Orange fleece! It looks so lovely and warm. Effect doubled with your eyes. ;-)

(I nearly bought an orange fleece a few weeks ago -- it was on sale and everything-- but then I lost my nerve and slunk out of the store instead. My inner Rodney McKay is sadly timid.)
And up there, where you said your eyes were Photoshop? Pish tosh. Stop that--they're lovely eyes, and PS doesn't deserve any of the credit.
