.racing turkeys!
Turkey madness continues :

There is a car coming from somewhere off the frame, and the turkeys are running away from it. Also, on the way to Freeport today we saw a bunch of them roosting in a tree.
A bit further down the road--this is really cool--we saw a moose. He was way far down in a valley, but you could tell what he was. We pulled over and gawked for a couple of minutes, and all he did was look around and stand still. I think this is what moose do all day... walk around and find places to stand for a while.
In awkward news: I almost outed myself as a fangirl today when my mom found my fic notebook, which I had forgotten to bring upstairs with me last night. Fortunately, my writing is microscopic and, in the case of my fic notebook, strategically sloppy, and I don't think there is anything immediately recognizable as porn, except for full-on capslock AND THEN THEY KISS!!!! Still, I was all, *mumble* "just random stuff... about two emotionally-stunted men who become friends, now shuttup and g'way" *die*
In related news: sketching out some
sga_flashfic stuff, and am trying to settle in for a couple of longer projects I'm pretty excited about. Oh, how I love this fandom.
And finally: at some point in the past few days, my
sga_art_santa piece appeared *shifty look* Everyone, seriously, GO THAR and look at all the awesome art that's been done--I will have time to myself tomorrow (cookie-baking! family spending several hours in Concord!) so I will finally get the chance to gawk appreciatively at everything that's appeared in the past several days. Similarly, I posted a bit of holiday floofiness @
mcsmooch, a little fic written for
the_oscar_cat's Secret SGA Christmas Podfic Anthology. There are several lovely stories, some sound effects, and music! And much, much happiness.
For now, though, my bed is calling! The sister's flight into Logan was delayed 2 hours yesterday and we didn't get back home until 2am asd;lkjdf *collapse*

Ooh, you use a real actual notebook for handwritten scribblings? Yay! I do too. Writing things by hand first just feels better to me. Although it can lead to awkward moments when you leave it lying about or when there are nosy people trying to peer over your shoulder. ;)

Yis! Some stuff I just write a few notes on before I turn to the .doc file, but other things are fairly elaborate. Occasionally I'll write out whole swatches of story, but that's pretty rare.

Also: good save. My mom already knows, however obliquely. WE call them "my stories."
"What are you reading? Your stories?"
"Yeah..."
Were you headed to Bean's? I can't believe you saw a moose - I haven't seen one in years.

Hee!
Were you headed to Bean's?
Among other places! My mom and I have this strange tradition whereby we go shopping a few days before Christmas and I pick out stuff I like, she wraps them, and then I act surprised when I open them on Christmas day :D
