I am pathetically grateful that now when I see "aesc" my brain can tell me "ash" because, not having assigned any pronunciation to it, I was processing it as a recognizable symbol, not as a word or a name.

Funnily enough, one of my LJ friends and I once did voiceposts for each other where we looked at the other's userinfo and read off all the LJ names of people we had in common, just to see how differently we pronounced them. It was cool to see how our assumptions differed and how there were quite a lot like your name, where we realized that we had never thought about how to say some of them aloud because they're not common words. And it was extra cool because she's not a native English speaker (and is self-taught, omg she's so brilliant), so everything that was initials, she said them as the letters in her native language. Hee.

(Your name wasn't actually one of them since she, not being in SGA, doesn't know you, but your name would have been one of those ones where I got to it and went "uhhhh. Shit.")
