remember that word 'hiatus'? yeah; ficlet/drabble prompts

I am in a hiatus right now. I should be back where I'm supposed to be, but am not, and it looks like I won't be going anywhere until tomorrow at the soonest. Everything has been packed away and sealed up, waiting to be put in a car (any car!), and I'm stuck with that feeling of being in-between, like waiting in an airport for a flight that has been delayed.

My mind is in a hiatus too, not really wanting to commit to anything it's supposed to be working on, so... small writing prompts? SGA or SPN (no Wincest, it isn't my thing), canon, AU (including any active one--Nantucket, Restoration, wotever), whatever you can think of.

Yes, my brain has suspended all useful thought for the foreseeable future.

SGA. McKay/Shepard. AU. Atlantis never made contact with Earth.

*ponders this!*

Hockey boys/intoxication! Or regular boys/intoxication! Druken!John! High!Rodney! Sex pollen? Truth serum? Hot sex!

Am I being too vague? ;)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Noooo, I think I get it ;)

SGA: John and the Olympics (interpret that as you choose). :)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] amberlynne and I have had Discussions revolving around John and a certain Olympic sport :D Stay tuned!

Dressage!!!!

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
We were thinking diving, but dressage definitely has merit :D

Hey, write anything with John in tight clothes and I am *so* there

McShep - grumpy old men?

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
*cackles*

[identity profile] omglawdork.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Sheppard/McKay, post Return II - right when they first get back. First time, if you're feeling it - but I'm not really picky. :-D

(sorry you're stuck in limbo - that's the absolute worst. *internet hugs*)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh, how much I love Return I/II!! Now I want to watch it, but it's all packed away in my suitcase *grumbles*

Something with Jeannie.

Also, hi! It's nice to see you about, even if you are in limbo.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yayy, Jeannie \o/ I think I know just the thing :D

Vacation has been extremely annoying this past week! No car, and relatives invaded the house for five days, and I haven't quite mastered the art of surfing LJ/reading gay porn with twelve-year-olds hovering around every corner.

[identity profile] mystisblom.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Right now I'm all for John&Rodney age 12 (like pictured here (http://mystisblom.livejournal.com/472403.html)) so please write a little drabble about an adventure one of them has :)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Awwww, not even thirteen and already they're out to destroy the world :D

[identity profile] bergann.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoooping this isn't just McShep because I seem to be in a vacationing place when it comes to those two, so uh, Rodney/Lorne - infirmary after Search & Rescue.

If not, that's cool!

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, I've never really written Rodney/Lorne, but I'll see what I can do :)

[identity profile] pollitt.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Eep, limbo is not fun nor cool. I'm sorry to hear that :(

Prompt: SGA. The team plays Scattergories. Hijinks ensue.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Heh heh heh, I can see Ronon trying to assimilate this :D

[identity profile] pollitt.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Two universes worth of languages--Athosian dialect, Satedan, scientific, surfer... I can just imagine what the arguments would be like.

"Xinchin as a candy? Seriously? No, honestly, tell me what that is."

"Rodney..."

"It is like a sweetened twist, perhaps almost rope-like. Usually it's red in color."

"A *Twizzler*?!?!"

[identity profile] ladyoflisquill.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Something about SGA's Deadulus Variations, Lorne and Zelenka waiting for the guys or trying to figure it all out.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmmm... *considers this!*

What about some John/Rodney to the tune of Neruda?

You are going to ask: and where are the lilacs?
and the poppy-petalled metaphysics?
and the rain repeatedly spattering
its words and drilling them full
of apertures and birds.

or

I like for you to be still: it is as though you were absent,
and you hear me from far away and my voice does not touch you.

or

I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair [...]

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.

[...]

and I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight,
hunting for you, for your hot heart[...]

::paws at verses:: Nerrrruuuuuuuda!

Yes, I second these prompts I do.

::rolls about in the words a bit::

Also, am very sorry about your limbo. If I could buy you Indulgences to get you out quicker, I so would.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
::paws at verses:: Nerrrruuuuuuuda!

I knowwwwww!!

Also, am very sorry about your limbo. If I could buy you Indulgences to get you out quicker, I so would.

*siiigh* If I could just get people to pray/make offerings on my behalf, my soul might get out that much sooner!

How about John and Rodney in an aquarium or tidal pool?

Um, when I wrote that I meant John and Rodney *visit* an aquarium, but if you want to make them like, jellyfish or starfish or whatever feel free. :DD

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Heee... I think if John were a dolphin, he would be the one you read about/see on TV, the one that's gotten all turned around and ends up swimming upstream :D

[identity profile] sheafrotherdon.livejournal.com 2008-08-13 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
John/Rodney, canon SGA. peace.

Oooooh, *is intrigued*

How to Play Night Baseball

[identity profile] dogeared.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
A pasture is best, freshly
mown so that by the time a grounder's
plowed through all that chewed, spit-out
grass to reach you, the ball
will be bruised with green kisses. Start
in the evening. Come
with a bad sunburn and smelling of chlorine,
water still crackling in your ears.
Play until the ball is khaki—
a movable piece of the twilight—
the girls' bare arms in the bleachers are pale,
and heat lightning jumps in the west. Play
until you can only see pop-ups,
and routine grounders get lost in
the sweet grass for extra bases.

Eeeee, how lovely and quiet, and cool like a summer evening, but still with warmth behind it. *meditates!*

I am always jonesing for another glimpse of the Nantucket boys, however I can get one. :) How about a picture prompt?

Heh heh heh, the lengths Rodney will go to to get a cup of coffee! :D :D

(I just got home from work 15 minutes ago. I hope you don't mind my dropping in.)

I think the world would benefit from reading more of the hijinks John and Rodney the pandas could get up to. You just know they're plotting all sorts of things in their enclosure. Also, cuddling. Hijinks always end with cuddling, right?

[identity profile] everagaby.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ooo, I second adorable John and Rodney pandas! They always make my day so much better when I'm feeling blah.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-08-14 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
PANDA PANDA!!! I think that can be arranged :D
