Stupid week, not productive, headache-infested.

On the bright side, I just wanted to say how much I love this cap.




I used this for the cover to Ces's Te of John, and I have the feeling it might be a cap I revisit. On occasions I find myself returning to the same image (like the one of John's neck in The Price That Life Exacts), and while sometimes it seems like it's probably just a function of my laziness, there's just something about certain caps that hook me--not necessarily any given cap's prettiness, but the light, the symmetry, the slightest detail of head-turn or the way the eyes are (especially with Hewlett--it's so hard cutting out Rodney-caps, because they're all so subtly, beautifully different), and this one here is just... *flaps* Oh, lovely.

(Also, how awesome are those racing stripes on John's track pants? ♥)

I love how Rodney's face is in shadow, but you can still get an idea of the pain there too. I just want to cuddle him and tell him it's gonna be all right.

It's like John could turn around, and it could be any other time, and he'd see Rodney in that bit of light, part in shadow, and something funny happens right under his breastbone--like a quick tightening. And Rodney would turn the full way around, and he'd look confused because John stopped talking, isn't blinking. He'd say John's name, and John would shake his head and move toward Rodney and maybe they'd be able to get on their way like nothing happened, but more likely than not... John would slide his hand over Rodney's shirt, letting his fingers slip under the hem, and he'd have to lean in for a kiss.
