Six years ago today,
aesc came into the world.
I think it was Aja who invited me to join, because it's where all the cool kids had started hanging out, back in the day when plain-text emails on Yahoogroups had started to lose their appeal. It was sort of amazing, thinking that I could format for italics, instead of doing the ** for emphasis. Heh, it's funny, a review of "Scrap of Humanity," which was written during the pre-HTML period, complains about the asterisk!italics, and I've always wanted to ask if this person was ever in fandom in the days before HTML-capable email or before fanfiction.net gave the option to format text.
Anyway. It's pretty amazing, thinking of all the cool people I've met in my time here, like
cedarlibrarian and her totally awesome parents,
mrkinch who put up with me on a very long road trip to Boston,
dogeared who is just as lovely in person,
smilla02 who took in a more or less complete stranger for a week (and, I suppose, I have to include her husband *g*),
le_mot_mo who also loves Austen... And all of you I've yet to meet, especially
ashkitty and
haydenthorne, whom I've known forever, and means you
sheafrotherdon and
siriaeve and
amberlynne (who still needs smooches for the Hewlett!panda). And so many more; I'm not the most social, get-out-and-meet-everyone person, but I seriously, seriously would not mind it if any of you happened to wander into my life in corporeal form. Why?
You are all really, really cool, talented, smart people, and we need more of you in the world ♥♥♥

I've missed you and some of the other girls terribly lately. WaT and London both seem so long ago and when I look at the pictures, I wish I could turn back time. Hopefully we'll meet again-- soon. :o)
*hugs*
PS: As a fellow Austen-fan-- have you seen 'lost in Austen' already? The premise is kind of silly, but it's so well done and I love it to bits. :o)
