In a way this is cathexys's fault, although I'm not sure how... I think she mentioned manipping, and my brain took it from there, that's probably it. "Sight" comes from a snippet of a story I've been working on that I couldn't quite manage to fit into the actual plot... so it's an outtake, if you will.







Sight

It takes a fall in the shower, of all fucking things, reaching for the goddamn soap one second and the next waking up with Sam telling him how he never wants to see Dean naked ever again.

The first time he sees gold and sparkly crap in the corner of his eye, he tries to rub it away. It only works when Castiel appears and trades out the sparkles for his tie and shirt and coat.

When Dean wonders if maybe now he's got angel satellite in HD, he decides maybe the fall knocked his last screw of sanity loose.

Then he starts seeing more, glitter of chrome and patterns of terrible fire, the shadows of Cas's wings. Mostly, Cas looks exhausted, unshaven, tie pulled loose, and every bit as emo as Sam.

Dean tries not to let that freak him out.

But one day after Castiel defends a Seal and comes to tell Dean about it, Dean sees, only he doesn't see (and try to figure that one out) how he thinks Castiel might look minus the trench coat and weariness.

Thank you!! I sort of like the idea of Castiel appearing slightly different at different times... very official in his trench coat when he's on business and things are dire, but a little younger-looking and relaxed if things aren't quite so bad.

Which, of course, they haven't been so far :D

This is a wonderful idea on how to tell a small story. the graphics are absolutely lovely and you've got Dean's voice down to a tee. I loved this! The wings are particularly lovely.

Thank you kindly! I love doing graphic stories, but they tend to be a lot of work, so shorter stories work well for them, a good way to combine two things I love :)
