aesc: (uriel. he's badass.)

meme-thingy is memed

<--check out Uriel there. How badass is he?

I am so bored today, I'm almost catatonic with it. The boredom is, fortunately, well-paid boredom (I am putting together someone's bibliography and formatting their footnotes and I am being paid YAY), but still, money does not keep my synapses from curling up to take a snooze. Please keep me from falling over.

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] ashkitty: Give me a character and I will tell you something factual about them according to my own personal canon. This can range from their birthday, favorite color or even their earliest memory up to what they had last night for dinner. If you want, you can ask me a specific question about them, because I am so bored I don't know if I can come up with any facts without prompting.

Rodney. :)

Turkey!Rodney :D

When he was ten, he went on his first agrop hunt and came back with a horribly swollen arm, the result of an ambush that did not go as planned, and had to spend a week recovering. He also didn't get any agrop at the feast, which he's still sort of annoyed about.

Also, he secretly likes meditating. BUT DON'T TELL ANYONE.

One of the most humiliating experiences of his life was when he was sixteen years old and TAing for an introductory physics class. He was leading the troglodytes through the discussion session, trying to explain the laws of thermodynamics in Neanderthal, when his voice broke. Puberty sucks anyway, but being a "late bloomer" and being all skinny with a girly voice that suddenly snaps into a rather deeper tenor... no. Rodney still cringes.

One of turkey!Rodney's earliest memories, other than shrieking for his mother's attention (she was very distractible and not very good about seeing to it that they all got fed), is one of his first forays out of his nest, and bumbling into this other turkey, about Rodney's age, who, for some reason Rodney still can't understand, was determined to find the stream.

Only he was going north instead of southeast.

Rodney still sighs about that, too.

Oooh oooh pick me, pick me!!

John Sheppard's favorite foods.

And....

Something John adores about Rodney but will never admit in a million bazillion years.

:O An agrop! But they are very fearsome!

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2009-02-26 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
One of Rodney's first serious independent scientific endeavors, outside of his working atomic bomb, was redesigning the Death Star to make it completely invulnerable. Assuming he'd been able to acquire the funding (the US government had actually been interested, until they'd learned that the plan had been concocted by a grad student and thought it was a joke), it totally would have worked, too.

Ronon's one consolation is that he was the youngest ever to be chosen to go on the kamar agrop.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2009-02-26 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
John has an incurable weakness for New York-style pizza, steak (rare, as in hit the cow over the head), and brocolli. He doesn't like admitting the brocolli, because he hated it when he was a kid and he can still hear his dad lecturing him about eating green vegetables.

Also, John will never ever admit he likes the soft, irritated huff Rodney makes whenever he's confronted with people who are too stupid to be endured.

Sam thought her first day on Atlantis was one of the longest of her life. She's used to the exigencies of command, and she knows John Sheppard is, but there's a whole lot about Atlantis that, at the time, she could only guess at.

Also, she rolls her eyes and mouths along to Woolsey's lectures whenever his back is turned and she's sort-of sure none of her superiors are watching.

John grew up in the South, and spent most of his military career in hot places, so New England came completely unexpected. He still can't get his head around "twelve feet of snow" up on the mountains, or the six feet he gets stacked up over two days his first winter there.

He fell down exactly eighteen times when he first learned to ice-skate, but he tells everyone "two or three times" when they ask.

The first time he ended up on top, Rodney had tried to charge him into the boards and John had gotten out of the way at the last second, but had tripped over his own skates and toppled over, and they'd gone down like dominoes.

I second this and I am in love with aesc Uriel's icon.

:D :D :D

Castiel was born before the first day, when God pondered the darkness and then thought of light. In that instant he knew his creator and he knew his name (I am Castiel) and what he was, and what the shape of creation would be.

Eons later, he's happy the shape of creation has made a place for Dean Winchester, who is impossible and can try a patience used to coping with millennia, and who--Castiel is still vaguely startled at the realization--looks good with his shirt off.

*holds you* Soon, hon, soon!

And because I'd do everything to relieve you from your boredom, let's see. Someone asked you about Castiel and Uriel beating me to it. Soooo, I'm left all alone and predictable to ask you about Sam and Dean. Or if you're feeling wild, Bobby's hat :D

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2009-02-26 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and Uriel!

Before it broke off from the rest of Earth, Uriel had to guard Paradise from the first of fallen humanity. The first humans grew up there on the eastern slopes of Eden, and he watched the first birth, the first bloody murder, humanity growing up to be as prideful as Lucifer.

So he doesn't quite understand what's so great about them, even though he has to admit coffee is one of their more promising inventions.

Castiel remembers when he was born. First there was nothing and then he was, he had a body and skin and knowledge and love for his Father. He doesn't remember before because before he wasn't. He doesn't remember darkness because he's known only light. He remembers the softness of his wings, the pull on his shoulders as he stretched them to fly.

(We obviously share a brain! This is an excerpt of a story I'm writing :D:D:D)

\o/ Uriel is right here (http://aesc.livejournal.com/364074.html?thread=6885674#t6885674)!

And thank you on the icon! He's so badass and ominous in that scene :)
