<--check out Uriel there. How badass is he?
I am so bored today, I'm almost catatonic with it. The boredom is, fortunately, well-paid boredom (I am putting together someone's bibliography and formatting their footnotes and I am being paid YAY), but still, money does not keep my synapses from curling up to take a snooze. Please keep me from falling over.

ashkitty: Give me a character and I will tell you something factual about them according to my own personal canon. This can range from their birthday, favorite color or even their earliest memory up to what they had last night for dinner. If you want, you can ask me a specific question about them, because I am so bored I don't know if I can come up with any facts without prompting.

Only he was going north instead of southeast.
Rodney still sighs about that, too.

He fell down exactly eighteen times when he first learned to ice-skate, but he tells everyone "two or three times" when they ask.
The first time he ended up on top, Rodney had tried to charge him into the boards and John had gotten out of the way at the last second, but had tripped over his own skates and toppled over, and they'd gone down like dominoes.

John Sheppard's favorite foods.
And....
Something John adores about Rodney but will never admit in a million bazillion years.

Also, John will never ever admit he likes the soft, irritated huff Rodney makes whenever he's confronted with people who are too stupid to be endured.

*holds you* Soon, hon, soon!
And because I'd do everything to relieve you from your boredom, let's see. Someone asked you about Castiel and Uriel beating me to it. Soooo, I'm left all alone and predictable to ask you about Sam and Dean. Or if you're feeling wild, Bobby's hat :D

But in the meantime, even though Dean really likes poking fun at Sam's faith, it freaks him out when he wonders if Sam's losing it. He wants to blame Cas, but it's not Cas's fault that angels aren't what the inspirational literature in WalMart says they are, and it's not Cas's fault Uriel's a jerk. He wants to tell Sam please, Sammy, don't give up on it, because if he does--if he has--Dean has no idea where that might go.
On a lighter note, Dean can't figure out how to work Sam's iPod.

Sometimes Booth doesn't quite get why he signed on to keep an eye on someone who has no sense of exactly how many painful, horrible, and imaginative ways there are to kill a person. He doesn't know, but he did, and whenever something happens--hostage situation, kidnap, buried underground--he thinks of Brennan too logical to be scared, and of stumbling through Middle Eastern sand.
Sweets would have a field day with all that. Booth keeps it to himself.

I console myself with the fact that I have tickets for the Watchmen premiere next week. Yeah!

Danny's a New Yorker, even though he's from Florida. "New York" stands in for a lot with him, the heritage that he's run from and everything else he's tried to be, a man who isn't Daniel Alvarez but hasn't quite managed to turn himself into Danny Taylor, either. He and New York are works in progress, never one thing in particular, too many stories and identities and too much chaos.
Sometimes Danny gets tired of it and thinks about going somewhere else, but he's pretty sure he'd go crazy.

But at other times, she resents being forced to choose between Athos and Earth, and the overlooking of her own sacrifices when the time comes to decide Atlantis's fate. She tells her people hadn't suffered and died because of the Terrans, that it had been the Wraith--that it had been the Ancestors, and Teyla's faith in them has crumbled to dust--but still, when she sits at the conference table, pleading her people's case... Most of them don't see it.

She manages to forget the demon and her promise for whole stretches of time, but the memory comes back when she's at her happiest: her wedding, so bitter without her parents but still somehow joyful; when the doctor tells her she's seven weeks along, when she wins the argument over what they'll call him-or-her when him-or-her comes around. When Dean coughs and sputters, tiny and red-faced and indignant in her arms, when he says his first word (Zee-ba), takes his first steps, and none of that is any less amazing when it's Sam. When, on one anniversary, she and John take a ride in the Impala and John sings along to his new favorite band (Metallica?) and she pleads for him to shut up.
That night cuts through the sunlight, through Dean's laughing face, I'll come and ask for something, and warmth drains away for a moment until she can forget again.

Sweets!

Sweets and Caroline are secretly in cahoots to get Booth and Bones to realize that they are, in fact, together-together. Caroline laughs at how all of Sweets's psychological voodoo hasn't gotten him anything except a clay model of a horse--and Agent Booth had ended up giving that to Parker.
Also, Sweets divides his time between kicking ass on his Wii and dominating in World of Warcraft.

Contrary to Dean's opinion, he doesn't get his rocks off watching other people sleep. Castiel does watch, though, and now he's a part of things, not apart from them. And he can see how things get cloudy and muddy, obscured by flesh and time, and he's started to wonder why it is he--his Father--ask so much of these frail and desperate creatures, and when his orders call on him to threaten and stalk and push Dean into obedience, he wonders about free will, and how that seems to vanish at times--if obedience isn't another name for fear.
Not all obedience is bad, though, as he finds when he lets Dean harass him into trying warm apple pie with ice cream.

(Season 3 finally arrived. Last night we watched the Halloween one, where Bones is dressed like Wonder Woman and Booth like a nerdy squint. When Bones suddenly said, "I concur! Vehemently!" my housemate and I cracked up, and realised that *that* had been the exact point we first fell in love with Bones, when we saw it on TV.)

Every day, Zack does one thing that he thinks qualifies as "normal" human behavior. Last Monday, he bought an issue of Cosmopolitan, and weirded Angela out by giving her advice on how to give herself a home manicure. The next day he watched a hockey game, and made Booth stare at him when Zack remarked about the patent unfairness of the hooking call made against the Red Wings player in the second period.

I guess... lessee... One day, when they're trying to escape from yet another group of bad guys that want to take what Firefly's already taken, Kaylee has to race around the engine room in her favorite floofy pink dress. You wouldn't think it, but it's easier to get around in than it looks :D
