traveling Finn!

Finn, like all pets, knows the significance of the Suitcase, aka Black Box of Doooooooom.

The second I got it out of the closet tonight he was right there, nuzzling and gazing at me pleadingly. Then, in order to increase his Pathetic Quotient, he stepped into my suitcase and sat down. The pleading is either because he's afraid I'm going to abandon him cruelly and pitilessly, or else he's afraid I'm going to toss him in the car for two days.

(It is the latter; I am driving home for spring break YAY! Is a surprise for my mom's birthday, so don't tell her.)

Awww, poor kiddo. Molly does the same thing. Safe travels!

This morning, the second he got a chance he made a break for it and leaped into the trunk as well :D :D Of course, his relief that he in fact was coming with me vanished when we got on the interstate... Then he had to resign himself to 11 hours of boredom :D

LIFE HARD!

SO HARD, AMBERS.

Aww! The family dog, Bailey, does the same thing. And when all the bags are stacked by the door, she sits in the living room and looks at us pleadingly. Our poor pets!

It is so sad!!!! Finn almost always comes with me if I'm going to see my family (I have a feeling my parents would turn me away if I didn't bring him with me XD), but he's been through enough times when the Suitcase means I'm going away by myself to be suspicious :D

Ahhhh, that is so sweet! Don't they just break your heart when they do something like that?

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
It was very sad! He also threw in the "I will sit down and lean all my weight on your leg while I gaze wistfully up at you" trick, which is rather heart-wrenching :D

Oh how absolutely adorable he is. I love his name too. Drive carefully and have fun. Then hurry back and write more SGA, okay?

Finn says thank you!!! At least there is someone in the world who appreciates how adorable he is :D

Well, that's always a good thing

See, Pasha *hates* it when we leave and travel without him, but he *loves* coming with us on long car rides! We fold down the back seats and he has this giant puppy kingdom back there and he sprawls out and sticks his head out the window and really *really* adores going for long car rides!

Poor Finn is uncertain, I think. On one hand, he desperately wants to come with me, but once we're on the road he sleeps (with the occasional attempt to insinuate himself in the front seat, or a sigh to remind me he's bored), until we get to a rest stop or I pull off for gas... And then the freakout commences. He hates being left alone in the car, so there's a lot of frantic barking and wailing and carrying on, and looks from people who are walking by :|

(He actually even hates it if there are two people and one of them gets out. Last summer my dad had to drive me home, and if one of us got out to get gas or run in somewhere for coffee, he would go nuts.)

My last cat did exactly the same thing - she knew precisely what the suitcase meant and would refuse to leave it, as if to say "I am staying right here so you can't leave. Are we clear?"

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
My old roommate's cat did that as well. She would also mess up the roommate's clothes, and once she shredded her makeup bag. That was a very petulant, spoiled cat :D

Aw, poor woobie, but he is too adorable.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
It's a good thing, too :D

Good luck with the landlord! They aren't much fun. (It's why when I moved I did my best to find an apartment that allowed dogs; I got sick of not having one!)
