.art: Solitary Man (John)

Heh, trying to add some more entries to my typography tag XD I'll post a wallpaper of this eventually, but the way it came together was weirdly... not wallpaper-friendly, so I'll have to mess around with it some more.






Brushes and stock by elli, blimey_icons, and stock x-change.

"Solitary Man" was done pretty much the same way as Every Bended Knee, with text brushes used to sketch out John's face (using My Favorite Vegas Screencap as a guide), and Baskerville Old Face font for the contours. I added in textures because I didn't want this piece to be too much like the last one, but I don't know... it feels a bit cluttered, and I've decided I like the typography to carry the weight.

In other news: Am still wibbling over SPN 4.16. Meeep.

Oh, that's gorgeous. I love the effect of his profile, and the contrast of dark and light.

Thank you!! I was going for a sort of mixed-media collage, with John's face on some kind of heavy white paper laid on top of the darker background. Not sure how it came out, but I'm happy you liked it! ♥
