.art: Solitary Man (John)

Heh, trying to add some more entries to my typography tag XD I'll post a wallpaper of this eventually, but the way it came together was weirdly... not wallpaper-friendly, so I'll have to mess around with it some more.






Brushes and stock by elli, blimey_icons, and stock x-change.

"Solitary Man" was done pretty much the same way as Every Bended Knee, with text brushes used to sketch out John's face (using My Favorite Vegas Screencap as a guide), and Baskerville Old Face font for the contours. I added in textures because I didn't want this piece to be too much like the last one, but I don't know... it feels a bit cluttered, and I've decided I like the typography to carry the weight.

In other news: Am still wibbling over SPN 4.16. Meeep.

Wow! This is fantastic. I've got the same cap as my journal header and you've managed to capture/re-create the same level of 'character' in John's face with the textures and typeface. Not cluttered... complex, interesting, just like that face and I love how the eye is carried down the neck by the 'Man' and the guitar. Well done!
