EIGHT DAYS OF HAPPY! | prev. days: 01 | 02 | 03

Happiness: Day Four
My non-work and non-fic reading tends to be contemporary poetry (or modern facing-page translations of poetry) and nonfiction. This is what has been on my bedside table:

Sherrod Santos, Greek Lyric (not facing-page Greek/English, but the translations are amazing)
Robert Hass, Time and Materials (I just started this)
Terry Darlington, Narrow Dog to Carcassonne (travel, so idiosyncratic and fun: a retiree and his wife take their nervous narrow dog from England to Carcassonne on their canal narrowboat)
Lionel Casson, Travel in the Ancient World (necessary for anyone who loves reading about old stuff)

And yes, those are more chocolate chip cookies. And a ginormous mug of camomile tea. And Finn on the couch in the background.

Finn is possibly the cutest dog I've seen through just pictures. N'awww! ♥

Finn says there is no "possibly" about it :D :D

Cookies, books, and a dog are three of the major components of my happiness :D

Finn is obviously either very well-trained or very well-fed. No way those chocolate chip cookies would still have been on the table if my old dog Inca had been around *g*

Very cool books, btw.

Heh heh, I was looming right there, glaring at him the entire time ;) But he generally tends to behave himself when I'm right there. Now, when I step out of the room, or leave the house, well... All food is fair game :D

Many thanks for the "Travel in the Ancient World" details!

I was thinking of you! I think you would find much useful information, as well as entertainment, therein; Casson is a very entertaining writer. (He also wrote Libraries of the Ancient World, which is another generalist book, and also a very good read.)
