two things that are even more entertaining because it's 1AM and I'm strung out
1.) Oh, @misha... You know, I think it all goes back to when me and Kim Jung il got drunk on rice wine and I rebuffed his efforts when he tried to kiss me. Unrequited Kim Jong Il/himself? Mind. Cannot. Cope.
2.) Speaking of same-sex love... some people just don't get it! "But Michael Medved, a former Post movie critic, says Downey and Law must be joking. 'There's not a seething, bubbling hunger to see straight stars impersonating homosexuals,' Medved told us. 'I think they're just trying to generate controversy . . . They know that making Holmes and Watson homosexual will take away two-thirds of their box office. Who is going to want to see Downey Jr. and Law make out? I don't think it would be appealing to women. Straight men don't want to see it.'" (source)
YES I KNOW YOU ALL HAVE SEEN THIS. BUT. It becomes more and more amusing every time I read it. Like, how has the man managed to miss the past decade of Harry Potter slashfic? Brokeback Mountain? The slow trickle of slash fanfiction and fandom scholarship into the mainstream? It's the staggering obliviousness that I love so much. Oh, Mr. Medved, shall I show you my screenplay?
3.) Because there is always room for a third: I recently had occasion to come across a summary of a study (abstract here) in which researchers discovered that increased levels of oxytocin, usually associated with the warm fuzzies of mother/child bonding and sweet, sweet afterglow, are also associated with a spike in levels of schadenfreude exhibited by victorious test subjects while contemplating the losses of their adversaries.
If I could only schadenfreude myself to orgasm, I would be fucking set for life.
