.post of random: tormenting Amber; happy fandom things and links
I really haven't been tormenting Amber enough lately, since I'm only peripherally involved in Generation Kill and anything vampire-related inspires annoyance that overpowers the hotness that is Alexander Skarsgard. This is an attempt to make up for it.
Backstory: I went to donate blood today. (Good news: I am no longer borderline anemic! This is a Relief for me.) After donating, I got some juice and pretzels (handed to me by a nice young man in fatigues; the blood drive was organized by the campus ROTC), and my choice of t-shirts: a boring old "I donated blood to the Red Cross"-type one, and this one. As you can tell, I picked this one.
Fannish stuff that is pleasing to me today
Let's just walk for a while (John/Rodney, PGish) by steammmpunk. Her drawings make my soul happy, so clean and crisp.
New comm! MOOSEBUTTHONEY (hahahaha, I said "moosebutt") follows the adventures of beekeeper!John and chef!Rodney, who must put up with Radek and his quail-centric fantasies. I think we all know by now that the team does well in ANY AU you care to plunk them into, but they are especially tasty here.

Emmanuel (Dean/Cas) A seriously awesome vid by lola_thursday, set to Sufjan Stevens' "The Seer's Tower," which is currently one of my favorite pieces of music on my iTunes.
Human and monster (Dean, Cas, Sam) two vids by Mel, and I don't really think I need to tell you how amazing they are, seeing as her work defines "amazing." (Look it up in the OED, it's there.)
Starting from the end of times (Dean/Cas Rish so far) a completed fic-in-progress by anniehow. Show it some love, y'all, seriously! It's only speculation for early S5, no spoilers, with an awesome worried yet stubborn Dean and a Castiel who wishes, just once, for Dean to listen to him.
Daughter of Man and Whomever they choose (girl!Dean/Castiel; eventual NC17) by Trin. Why? Because Deanna Winchester can't hear you over the sound of how awesome she is.
Three Dean/Castiel WIPs I am following with much interest and anxiety, because I have no ability to delay my gratification and wait until they're done: The Oz Series by bauble (PG/PG13ish so far), in which Dean and Cas find themselves in a really screwed-up place; And I will walk on water (PG13ish and subject to change), by tracy, in which Castiel has to find a new place for his faith and discovers what makes humanity kind of cool; and olympia_m's Roman story (eventual NC17), in which Lucius and Gaius are gladiators, and Cassianus knows way more philosophy and religion than Lucius likes.
And, selfishly, the wonderful reaction to "Signs and portents" and noir!boys :"> The noir thing is just something I've been mucking about with because I find it visually interesting, and "Signs and portents" is, literally, something I wrote in an evening because Trin and I thought Sam being cruelly forsaken when Dean takes up with the hot new boy was hysterical. So, yay! I'm happy everyone is enjoying them.
in other news: I'm kind of wired right now, as you may be able to tell. I really need to settle down. Between fandom and kind-of cheerful prospects in RL, though, it's hard.
