.assorted drabbles: LotR, SGA, WaT

A few drabbles from the drabble meme-thing that's been going around. There's still one more to be claimed, if anyone wants it.

Mass disclaimer: I own none of these boys. Sigh.

LotR:

For [livejournal.com profile] randi2204: Boromir, Faramir (PG, h/c) -
THE SPEAR-WARRIOR

“I had not thought to see such riding outside of Rohan.” Boromir fixed the bandage to Faramir’s arm, war-rough hands unsteady, betraying the lightness of his words.

“When my captain calls…” Faramir stopped, aware of the men close about them, though pained cries and the physicians’ orders rang in the stone room. “Do you not have duties?”

Boromir frowned. “It is no duty to care for a brother. Now be still and wait.”

“Is this how you comfort the dying?”

“No, only those who would risk their heads to save mine because of their duty.”

“It was no duty, brother.”

MEMORIA

I remember him as he was that lairë, a vision of silver, of fire.

Much sorrow has come: war and loss; another vision, one winter-cold, lit by silver light and the reflection of the stars on Anduin; true knowledge of my brother – proud, brave, brave as the doomed are.

Yet… It is nothing beside that night – his mouth on mine, his hands, his smile – oh, his smile, I can see it – his touch, everything about him like wine.

I do not, you must know, see him, the warrior, dead in that Elven-ship, but alive – my brother, magnificent in firelight.

SGA:
For [livejournal.com profile] mardia: Rodney/Carson, crackfic with jealous!Carson (PG) -
INVIDIA

He shouldn’t have introduced them. A mistake, Carson thinks as he watches Rodney in bed, reading a book and plowing through a tin of peppermint creams, the third Carson’s weaseled out of a tech from Aberdeen whose hobby is running contraband from Earth.

Carson suspects Rodney’s using him for the peppermints.

“Want one?” Rodney offers Carson the half-empty tin.

“No.”

Rodney says something, muffled by a mouthful of peppermint. Tries again: “You got a line on any more?”

Carson wants to say no, because Rodney’s been paying more attention to the candy than to him, but when Rodney – spontaneous and unexpected and tasting like peppermints – kisses him, he changes his mind.

WaT:

PLACES QUIET

Central Park on a sunny spring day is always crowded, and today is no exception. Kids shouting, Frisbee-playing teenagers, joggers, tourists, ever-present noise of the city, but everything’s quiet under the oak tree where Danny and Martin are.

Danny, who loves to talk, doesn’t mind the quiet at all.

Shady, quiet, easy to think it’s private, easy to see Martin turning toward him, to kiss the mouth half-open in question.

And Martin thinks it’s easy too, going with the kiss, fingers playing down Danny’s neck, and when he pulls back, his eyes are dark and blue and happy.

LITANY

His first year at Holy Cross, Danny would have fallen asleep halfway through Mass – especially if Father Bryant, who’s a walking tranquilizer, was performing it.

Danny supposes he shouldn’t be having such impious thoughts while in chapel, but then he’s also discreetly rubbing his foot along the length of Martin’s calf, feeling the other boy’s muscles quiver.

Martin, who’s new and an atheist – at Holy Cross because it’s Very Exclusive, not out of any religious motives – gripping his copy of the Nicene Creed and turning red.

“Heathen,” Martin mutters, when Danny finally stops.

“Amen,” Danny agrees, feeling very definitely awake.

ETA: While I'm thinking about it, I thought I'd let you all know that I've gotten a large amount of my fics (mostly older) moved over to their new page here. I haven't yet finished all the LotR and WaT stuff, but I hope to get a chance to do that in a couple weeks, once things quiet down.

A) Who wouldn't give anything? B) If I'd had incentive like Danny has, I would still be going to church...
