Finally finally finally, I'm through my field exams, and I am one more step closer to being Dr. aesc!




Only, you know, with less astrophysics. But. I do have the orange fleece and a REALLY REALLY HUGE GRIN on my face.

Now, I am going to finish my wine and spend some time in bed.



And I know this is completely ridiculous and a sad sign of where my priorities are, but I'm really really excited about being able to write about something that involves more boys than a lot of my current material does.

Rodney is very impressed. John just sort of wants in your pants. It's a smart-is-sexy thing. He can't help it.

Rodney would totally see John's I want in aesc's pants look* and would be all, "You do know she studies English Literature, right? And that that really isn't a legitimate academic discipline?" And John would say, "As opposed to.... astrophysics?" And Rodney would say, "Yes."

Er. Wait. That really wouldn't work in your favor. Maybe John could just say he has a fantasy about doing it with two really smart doctors and Ronon would break him in half if he suggested Keller? ;)

Then Rodney would sniff and say, "Then it's going to be a two-year wait while she finishes the complete exercise in academic pointlessness that is a dissertation in English, and besides, I have two doctorates. That counts as doing it with two really smart doctors."

Alas, I am not even two years from a doctorate, so I am not smart enough to come up with an argument for that. I guess you'll just have to convince Rodney to let you watch or something. *g*

I have to say, the promise of John/Rodney porn at the end of two years of research and writing sounds like a lot more incentive to get my dissertation done than, uh, the prospect of getting a job and actually working.
