Finally finally finally, I'm through my field exams, and I am one more step closer to being Dr. aesc!




Only, you know, with less astrophysics. But. I do have the orange fleece and a REALLY REALLY HUGE GRIN on my face.

Now, I am going to finish my wine and spend some time in bed.



And I know this is completely ridiculous and a sad sign of where my priorities are, but I'm really really excited about being able to write about something that involves more boys than a lot of my current material does.

Come to think of it, I think we've known each other for almost as long as I've been in higher education... definitely since my junior year of undergrad, which is... going on eight years now.

Rodney would totally see John's I want in aesc's pants look* and would be all, "You do know she studies English Literature, right? And that that really isn't a legitimate academic discipline?" And John would say, "As opposed to.... astrophysics?" And Rodney would say, "Yes."
