D: D: D:

There is not enough WTF in the world for this.

Before there was Summer's Eve, there was...

Again I say: D: D: D:

I mean seriously, anything that strongly suggests you use rubber gloves while applying it to various surfaces should probably not be put inside you. For all I know, Lysol might be a great feminine hygeine product, but still, what's next? Shaving your legs with a straight razor? *cringes*

And then there's this, which makes me so so happy I'm alive right now:

Just... no. No thank you. I like to think the woman's thinking, "Vitamins, and also the fact that soon I will kill you, bury you with quicklime, and run off to Tijuana."

Yeah, the efforts to make *every* woman conform to these absurd models were crazy-making - they had profoundly negative consequences on girls and women both, and we're still seeing it today, even if it's *cough* somewhat more subtle...

Well, perhaps subtle as a bag of hammers instead of a bag of bricks, at least in some ways... One of the things I deeply, deeply hate is the "girl, you can be whatever you want! Just make sure you have a boyfriend/get married eventually" message. I got that a lot in school, and it still irks me, especially when it comes around to the sly wink and "So, [livejournal.com profile] aesc, you're working on your dissertation and doing what you love, but... is there a BOY in your life?"

*annoyed face*
