Roommate went to the polls this morning (I went last week), and she was #66 in line to vote, at around 7:30. I can see the parking lot for the polling place across the street; it's been getting a little bit fuller for the past hour or so and a healthy crop of Obama signs has appeared by the sidewalk. I'm going out in a bit to drive around town and take pictures of various places for postage on

novemberfourth tonight. It's one of the things I'm doing to keep myself busy.

Still, guys, I am really really really anxious. I need a hug.

Yay! It's finally here! We were at our polling place at 6:15 (polls opened at 6:00am) and already a line had formed. It was very exciting!

Things are picking up here!! I am headed out in just a bit to see what's up, but the two precinct parking lots I've seen look rather full, and at one there are poll workers making sure people know to fill out both sides of the ballot and that sort of thing.

Barack and Michele just voted on my teevee and Barack's nose got twitchy because Malia was yawning and kept bouncing between the two of them while they filled out their ballots. Take comfort: our candidate is the adorablest!

*hugs* For what it's worth, I've never been this nervous over any election in my own country.

I get that impression from a lot of people, both LJ friends and friends in RL who are non-US citizens. I really wish the election was less crucial in terms of world impact, but since it's not... I really really hope my country makes the right decision :)

I am sort of surprised I managed to sleep last night--but then, I didn't even wait for my alarm to go off before I was up and out of bed. I've spent the morning milling around, waiting for people to start going to the polls in earnest so I can get some good pictures, and fortunately my afternoon looks pretty busy... but after class tonight, there might be nothing for it but to sit at home and watch the returns. *wibbles*
