uhhhh... hi (words you will see a lot in this post: weird, bizarre)

Oh man, today is a day of weirdness.

I had the most bizarre dream last night, involving two of my best guy friends from when I was growing up (even though one of them I had never met before, I just knew we were close), Misha Collins, and a crazy Shining-type villain who committed horrible crimes using his telekinetic powers and was getting away with it, and I had to track him down.

(For the concerned: Misha did not play the villain. I know this even though I woke up without solving the case.)

I woke up slightly weirded out and dissociated, and it's only gotten worse. I went to donate blood today, discovered my hematocrit level is low (the lowest, in fact, it is possible to have and still be a donor) and I am torn between being worried--because dammit, I've been working on this for months--and being happy that at least I was not too anemic to donate. Then I almost froze to death sitting there while they drained me of vital fluids, got up and felt bizarrely okay. The emphasis here is on "bizarre" because now, almost three hours later, my right arm hurts and I'm guzzling down water and OJ and feeling like I am in a slightly different dimension than everyone else. While giving feedback on a paper I zoned out halfway through an explanation and was all wow the inside of my head makes weird noises.

So I feel kind of... strange and not of this world. Hi there, I come from another planet.

Also, I have a new header because really, being Castiel-less is sort of ridiculous. [livejournal.com profile] animotus, I was thinking of you and your awesome b/w moodiness :D :D

Hi again.

Lord, I'm standin' at the crossroads, I believe I'm sinkin' down

Thank you!!

(And I think I may need to do that as well!)

Uriels comments about the angels joining with the demons to retake the earth reminded me very strongly of Crowley's belief that the apocalypse would be humans vs angels and demons.

Plus, I never really need an excuse to re read. Now if only my copy wasn't 50 miles away!

Ohhh, yes, you are quite right! Even in the apocalypse as found in the Bible, things don't go too well for most people. *sigh*

The way the show has been going, with the angels/demons vs. humans, is almost gnostic in some ways... Incompetent/distant creator who screws things up, angels who can't quite be trusted, demons interested only in having humans in their clutches... Someone might have been at Elaine Pagels :D

I must admit, as a pretty staunch atheist I had real doubts at the start of the season when Cas appeared. I wasn't sure what to expect, and Dean's agnosticism had always appealed to me. I was worried he'd suddenly have a miraculous conversion.

I needn't have been worried though: the way it's playing out is much more interesting, especially if you consider Anna as an agent of the unknowable workings of God.
