The end part did not do much for me, but the first thirty/thirty-five minutes, my (withered, decrepit) heart almost could not take it. That entire scene was just... oh, oh goodness.
"How's about ... how about we say goodbye now?" "No." With the pouty lips. "What do you mean, no?" "I mean I'm not saying goodbye." "Well, I'm saying it anyway." "Well, I'm not listening."
That last moment was great. It had the feel of something they could have cut, or something spontaneous, because the pause went on just long enough... and then Joe totally loses it.
God, his smile! He's just so, so fond and-- I can't-- asghjdsklkjhdgfj Oh, John. (Also, was Rodney wearing John's leather jacket for the rest of the episode?)
I have to say, Ronon ran John a good second when it came to looking out for Rodney. "I owe it to him," and championing the shrine against Woolsey, Jennifer, and John (until, of course, John caved). RONON YOU RULE!
Okay. They can say that John loves Teyla and always has, but all the time that Teyla was with Michael and John didn't know where she was? He NEVER looked so broken and torn up as he did watching Rodney deteriorate. And he's never touched Teyla like that, so sure and honest and so definitively.
There. I said it and I'm not taking it back. *lifts chin in a Rodney kind of way*
I think Teyla and Ronon both know that John will find them and rescue them wherever they are, but like you said, he's never attached himself to them in the same way he has to Rodney. Just that one sentence--Rodney's never going to forget him, because John won't let it happen.
I hope hope hope there is a larger version released without all the stupid SciFi logos on it because there is SO MUCH GRAPHICAL LOVE here. So, so, so much.
This scene might beat out the one in "Tao," where Rodney tries to get John to agree to give his eulogy. It comes VERY CLOSE, but "Tao" is still a sentimental favorite :D
I sooooo want to see this ep and I can't today. :o( Why oh why did one of my best friends have to decide to get married today? *pouts* I'll have to wait until tomorrow. *pouts more*
Also, I got spoiled a little for the ending of the ep, by reading a post where I didn't expect any spoilers. I hate it when people don't write in their cuts that there'll be spoilers. I have to say that I still don't get the whole Rodney/Jennifer thing and never will. I like Jennifer, but she and Rodney wouldn't make a good couple. I wonder whatever happened to the Jennifer/Ronon thing that was introduced in season 4. They were so great together and I really wanted them to hook up. If only to see Ronon shiny and happy with a girlfriend. I mean, let's face it-- if Rodney and Jennifer get together, she'll always come in second place after John. Sad for her, but it makes me very very happy. *g*
Arrrrrrgh, ridiculous friend!!! Clearly she did not take into account SGA's schedule ;)
I wonder whatever happened to the Jennifer/Ronon thing that was introduced in season 4.
I can't believe they dropped that, and I have no idea why. They had it perfect and then, of course, they blew the opportunity (apparently in order to have some competition over Jennifer, whaaaat???).
Wait, what am I saying, I don't believe they dropped Jennifer/Ronon? Of course I can! It's the writers. *headsmack*
Does he have...bare feet? *flails* Bare feet! Oh, hurry up download, I can't wait! (This ep doesn't air here for several mroe weeks, and I am not going to wait over a month to see it)
I was crying throughout the whole episode, the part made me smile. When he started yelling for John at the beginning is when the waterworks started and never stopped. Does anyone know where I can get good screencaps of last night's episode?
I know. And he just... he goes to JOHN. Not Jennifer, John. *flaps stupidly*
As for screencaps, I know thegrrrl2002 usually posts a small selection of hi-quality images. When the 720px versions are released, I will be running my own and will probably post them on discolore after they're done :)
