I posted a few caps here in a locked post when the episode sneaked online a few weeks early. Unlocked now! No real commentary tonight, because I usually feel vaguely lame writing commentary, and also, I'm up early to go sailing tomorrow. Nautical!

tardis80: I love that my show is imperfect. I love that its imperfection allows me to imagine and play, and engage in a different kind of criticism that isn't excavating information from obscure sources or defending a theoretical orientation. I love that it's brought together a fandom that, in its better moments, is enthusiastic and intelligent and passionate and can engage with the material in such a way that it addresses those imperfections at a number of levels.
So again, yeah. There you go.
Now, back to grading papers.

I'm still really annoyed with myself at forgetting to upload my Doppelganger stuff before I left, but I am so dedicated that I watched the episode again and pulled more caps and wrote up ficturespam for it. Yesh, such hardship I endure... But seriously, HOW AWESOME was this episode?

On the images: Some of these are experiments in color and lighting correction, so they may not match the color/lighting you remember from the episode. (I love my show, I really, really do, but the color filters drive me a bit nuts.) As is the case with all of my ficturespams, any/all graphics are free for the taking, and for whatever nefarious purpose you can devise.

Aug. 13th, 2007 01:38 amI got, oh, almost nothing done of what I needed to get done tonight. Reading is finished, which is always important (and I might actually get everything read by my exam date), but, um, the fic? She didn't go so well.
Neither did graphics stuff. I started out intending to redo my userinfo with something pretty, but ended up being sidetracked into drafting icons. In the interests of feeling productive, and because they have given me much to smile about for the past several hours despite the complete lack of said productivity, I post said drafts here.
Oh, David and Joe, what you do to me. *flails modestly*
In other news: Insomnia. Strikes. Again. If you're on MSN, feel free to bother me... I'll be good for the next hour, I think. (aesc36 @ gmail.com)

So I bring you another dual-themed picspam: Joe Flanigan in civvies (so if you see Sheppard, you won't see the black t-shirt) and the many and wonderful expressions of David Hewlett, mostly Rodney but with some other stuff tossed in.
For the record, I was supposed to do reading tonight.

1: Between the ineffable suckiness of yesterday and the fact that my stock collection has become woefully thin in terms of images I haven't used, I decided it would be a good idea to start going through my DVDs and pulling caps as a way to cheer myself up and be productive. I started off with SGA S1 "Rising," and it occurred to me that "Rising" has Rodney in his orange fleece. Those of you who know me know I love Rodney in his orange fleece. A good portion of the caps from both parts of "Rising" are of Rodney in his orange fleece.
2: While taking a break from work earlier today, I was hunting around my stock collection for some icons forflyakate (which made me realize how woefully thin said collection is), and I was thinking about dogeared's and my recent exchange over John in a turtleneck and how it would drive Rodney up the wall, and so I decided, hey, I did the slink, so now it's time for some neck porn.
(It goes without saying that this is very image-heavy.)
