I have to say, Ronon ran John a good second when it came to looking out for Rodney. "I owe it to him," and championing the shrine against Woolsey, Jennifer, and John (until, of course, John caved). RONON YOU RULE!
And we got Ronon backstory! *glee at wee!tracker!Ronon!*
How much did I love them all? OMG. SO MUCH. The scene of them on the flooded gate? Rodney lighting up whenever he saw John?
*flails*
They did the 'waking up to say goodbye' thing on House, too, and I must agree with a fellow House fan that they did it MUCH better here, with Rodney's very visceral and angry reaction.
*flails some more, tries not to wake the Mr. while tiptoeing to bed*
Hewlett is sort of amazing, how he can flip from fumbling/impaired to furious and vicious and upset. I loved the hints at what he'd gone through (and, you know, wish we could have seen more)--his memory faltering and failing, and everything slipping away except for the few people who are important to him.
And his face whenever he saw John... oh, oh goodness.
despite the authors flinging him at Keller, if you think about it:
When Rodney loses himself, who does he remember? When he forgets his own name, who's is he able to shout out? Not Keller, despite the "i love you". John.
