*le sigh*

I'm in kind of a weird place right now. Despite having a pretty sane second half of the semester, I've been mortally exhausted all the time; the hormone levels are not right, according to my doctor, and so it's the endocrinologist's for me after Christmas break. Like so much this year, it's good news mixed with the stupid/lame/not good: I'm 99% sure the depression has not returned--it doesn't have the same feel (I'm just chronically so fucking tired)--but that means it's Something Else instead. Lovely. Also, [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa is kicking my ass. One day to go and the Writer Demon is poking at me, going, This is weird, it's too crack-like, the person will be publicly "yay!" and privately "seriously, what the hell is this shit?" You might as well start over, and my brain is paralyzed.

On the bright side, [livejournal.com profile] tardis80 has been posting the most adorable things lately. NARWHALS. Mer!Rodney! BOYS! Also, [livejournal.com profile] countess7 has recorded podfics of [livejournal.com profile] apple_pi's Thursday porn and my followup to it, and you can listen to filthy dirty boys here.

And Finn has been climbing in bed with me lately, because thick-coated Canadian dogs can never be cuddled enough. He curls up against my legs, uncomplicated and warm and smelling of fur, and sleeps.

If there is anything happy to say or cute to show, I would love to see it ♥ I will start:

BABY SLOTH

Dear aitches,

Your icon is made of bemittened adorableness.

*cowls you!*
Jenns

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeeeee, cowls!!! *bundles you up!*

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
*falls over from the cute!* Look at that face! And the EAR! And the SNOW!

[identity profile] beadattitude.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Not only a baby sloth, but a tired baby sloth! EEEE!!

::as for the blues, here are large hugs and dreams of statues turned real called John::

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Baby sloths really are adorable. Look at him, holding onto his towel!

Mmmm, statue!John.... *le sigh* You know my icon is what he'd look like while trying to figure out Rodney's PlayStation.

Hey bebeh. Here are some cute pictures to make you happy, if I can ever figure out how to embed them. It is not looking good. ...okay, epic fail. Feel free to click through! Someday I will figure out how to put pics in w/o hotlinking. Maybe.

i has an elivater (http://pics.livejournal.com/omglawdork/pic/0000t0zr)

fantastic hair is also an excellent disguise (http://pics.livejournal.com/omglawdork/pic/0000wed2)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, Jason :D :D :D

And doing the image-imbedding, is easy! The code is just:

[img src="the url of the image"], except replacing the square brackets with < > (as you would in a link) ♥

[identity profile] countess7.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)

RED VELVET CAKE.

It's been ages since I've had that. No wonder I'm tired :D

*noms on it while petting baby panda*

I was scrolling through ?friendsfriends and the CUTE of the baby sloth ambushed me and made me fall into this comment.

the person will be publicly "yay!" and privately "seriously, what the hell is this shit?" You might as well start over, and my brain is paralyzed.
It's possible that this statement made my day all over again - I haven't been able to write a word of my [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa in 48 hours for sheer panic. I hope it doesn't make me a bad person that I found the fact that I am not alone comforting...

*offers cute icon as thank you*

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Elefink!

I hope it doesn't make me a bad person that I found the fact that I am not alone comforting...

Heee, I think a lot of us are in that boat :D

[identity profile] serialkarma.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cute" is not the word I'd use, but this site is definitely hilarious. (http://tackyweddings.com/)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, I don't know where to begin with the tacky and awful. The 16-year-old bride with her prostitute wedding party was pretty well beyond all description in my power.

did you say cute?

[identity profile] thegrrrl2002.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Image
Now THAT's pretty darn cute, IMHO. *g*

Also, sleepy kitty:

Re: did you say cute?

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Jooooooooe and his silly face! I have no idea how he makes that look so sexy as well as utterly ridiculous, but he does.

And sleeping kitty! I love watching animals sleep, even though it makes me a bit sleepy myself :D

[identity profile] hilarytamar.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No photographic cuteness to share, I'm afraid, but do have an icon: she's wearing a cat bed on her head. (No, really, I promise. It's from a Target ad from years ago.)

And there's this snail (http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2005/12/snailio_flipboo.html), which never fails to make me happy.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh goodness, that is one very very determined snail :D

Streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch!

[identity profile] cathalin.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Trust me, you are not alone.

*clings in santa-induced stress*

eta: I should clarify -- I'm actually relatively happy with my fic, except for the HUGE GAPING HOLES that I'm filling today. *headdesk*

editing again (lol, no, I'm not stressed AT ALL) to say, seriously, this exchange is a boon to the fandom and to fans. Whatever it is, whoever it's for, they will love it, are you serious?!?! You always write *wonderful* things!!!

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
My brain has just been, blah, completely useless; the writing really hasn't been happening except in spurts here and there, which is not how I operate. Tonight might be "finish the damn thing" and tomorrow "make sure it isn't completely nonsensical."

*hugs you!*

[identity profile] tropes.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh I just asked for an extension on sga santa. No time, no time, no tiiiiiiiiiime and no regular internet access.

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I reaaaally don't want to ask for an extension because I know intellectually this is just my brain being dumb and all I need to do is keep it from being so dumb that I can't finish. Besides, even if I did start something new, the evil voice would tell me, oh man was THAT a mistake... just finish the stupid first story because there's no way on god's green earth you're going to be able to start and finish a third one in time.

Grah.

Hurrah on it not being depression! Perhaps more sleep when you can get it and a quick morning exercise routine to get the blood flowing? Lord knows I've got better things to do in the morning than run right into the loving arms of my comp. As for happiness....http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2012789.ece
Baby elephants! Also if you know Merlin at all I've no end of lovely fic I could rec you.

Awwwww, baby elephants! Just look at them! *coos over them*

Also if you know Merlin at all I've no end of lovely fic I could rec you.

Alas, I'll have to pass ;) I watched the first couple of episodes, and while I liked it, I wasn't powerfully intrigued... But I study a lot of this in my Real Life, Such As It Is, so Merlin is probably a bit too close to work for me to make it my recreation :D Thank you, though!

Um, delurking to post kitten spam (with a twist?). Hopefully cute/funny-making :)
Basement Cat attacks(Kitten is one up for adoption, living in the clinic I work; the sphynxes are clinic cats, adopted from shelter. Kitten tends to be called the Basement Kitten - I'm sure you understand why *grin*. A f-lister said the pic should be titled 'Gargoyle minions are not happy').

The rest are my pets ... or in case of cats, the ones that pwn me :)
And if that is not enough, there are assorted cats, dogs and horses (and wild strawberries) under here:)

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
AWWWWWWW, you have a black dog too!! You are now an official member of the Black Dog Club :D And in the first picture, it looks like basement cat's minions are not happy about being tormented by their lord and chief :D

[identity profile] less-star.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Tiny, sleepy baby sloth, n'awwww! Sorry, can't out-cute that, but here's hoping you feel better soon!

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! ♥ I'm back at the house now and things (aside from tussling dogs) are blessedly quiet... now if only I could get writing done :D

[identity profile] stella-polaris.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
You have a dog named Finn?

Who was named after whom?

[identity profile] aesc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha, I do! I actually got and named Finn before I read the Farm in Iowa series, and he's named after the king of the Frisians mentioned in Beowulf. Like my Finn, this particular Finn was screwed over by people who had made certain promises to him (my Finn is a rescue dog; he was starved and neglected by his former owners, and by the time the rescue group managed to get a hold of him he was a full-grown Lab weighing 37 pounds)--but unlike the literary Finn, my Finn came out okay in the end :)

Tired baby sloth! So adorable! *gently strokes his sleepy, sleepy head*

Here's a picture of one of my kitties, Ming. She's trying to catch a lizard on the other side of the window. Silly girl!

Image (http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y166/kimberweeme/?action=view&current=P5200862.jpg)

And a crazy eyed sloth. (At least, I'm pretty sure it's a sloth.) He's adorable in his own way!

Image (http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y166/kimberweeme/?action=view&current=babyslothmaybe.jpg)

Awww, pursuit!kitty foiled by that wretches glass! I have to admit, one of my sources of amusement a few years ago was watching my old roommate's cat gaze longingly at the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks scurrying by outside the window :D

*pets wee sloth*

You do know about the itty bitty kitty committee (http://ittybittykittycommittee.blogspot.com/), right?

Their photos make the world temporarily less harsh for me. I hope the fosterlings do the same for you :)
