gratuitous Friday night I-have-no-attention-span! post

Today was much better than yesterday... busy, but the kind of busy that accomplishes things. Also, I saw Bones for the first time tonight and LOFFED it, omg. Bones and Booth are kind of stupidly adorable in their bickering... I'm not sure why I like watching chemistry that expresses itself through arguing and back-and-forth (Rodney and John, Sam and Dean), but I do) a;ksljdsdlkjsd;lkjsd

One minor note of irritation: WHY DO ALL MY ICONS LOOK LIKE ASS SRSLY??? *hands of frustration* I don't know what it is, but I have made and remade and finally unmade about 10 icons over the past several days, and they all look not very good at all. GRAH. Also, my icons are starting to look more and more like everyone else's, with the lightly-textured background and portrait-type subject. I like that sort of style, but I don't want to rehash the latest trend *more hands*

But here, have an LOLOWL:

Now, I am going to go and watch last night's SPN.

In the meantime, how are YOU ALL?

.eta: Wee snippet of some SGA/Bones here, because [livejournal.com profile] amberlynne needs some tormenting.

OMG!!! Yes, please. That right there. I need it immediately, if not sooner.

As for your LOWL - "I don't know what that means." I say that at work just to watch people (who don't watch Bones) look at me oddly. Which they do quite a bit, as I'm sure you can imagine.

How can you deny your icons? Why, the Aretha!hat mashups will live forever. Stop doubting, you!

Curse my sad current lack of Bones icons! Here, pretend this is Bones' next Halloween costume.

Hee, well, I doodled out a little bit of SGA/Bones in the comment below, for purposes of [livejournal.com profile] amberlynne-tormenting, but you can read it too :D

How can you deny your icons?

Heh, the only reason why those icons are any good is because they were four times larger when I originally made them :D For some reason, I've completely lost by ability to work in small spaces *sigh*

How is that tormenting? Oh, wait, YOU STOPPED, YOU HEATHEN! Stop doing that, willya? I'll be over there, patiently re-reading. *crosses arms, taps foot*

Heh, the only reason...

A) Doesn't everybody work large, and then shrink it down? It's the only way I've been able to do mine, especially if there's text. Not that I'm the standard, but it just seems the logical way to do it.

B) That's NOT the only reason. You had to get the concept, decide on the theme, find the bases to fit, meld the images, add the text, and still have it be accessible in the smaller size. That requires the ability to envision how it will be affected by the size shift, which is hard. So there.

C) I'm not saying you, I'm saying I, have, on occasion, managed to whammy myself (temporarily) out of certain skills. For the last week, I couldn't type a 'B' in a part number at work without looking at the keys. Regular typing is fine, I've just convinced myself somehow that I can't do it right there. I'm sure your small-space ability is merely mislaid for the moment, and will reappear shortly.

As for your original contention that all your icons are same-y...well, I don't see it, but if it is so, then that is obviously what is interesting you right now. (Ya know, sort of how Ansel Adams had that penchant for black and silver nature, or how George Hurrell enjoyed making portraits of stars lit just so. Nobody calls their stuff repetitive.) Also, there's no 'rehashing' in making a style your own. Next might be your blue period. Just - no soup cans, okay? They've been done. *g*
