There's a few things on my update plate, so I shall break them down into categories that do not necessarily appear in the order listed above.

The Bad
1.) I point you to [personal profile] wojelah's post on why United's new policy is deeply deeply uncool, and to another on what you can do. One of the things I particularly love about United and SW's policies (among those of other airlines, I did not know this!) is that they somehow assume if you can afford to pay for one ticket, you can damn well afford two. For myself, air travel would be pretty much impossible; even in a situation where I can expense things out (going to a conference, let's say), an extra ticket--unless by some miracle I got refunded under the empty seat policy--would destroy my budget. And, you know, being stigmatized and shamed in front of a hundred strangers, that's pretty destructive right there. Speaking of blindness and insensitivity...

2.) the morons in my diversity seminar the other day )

3.) Dear moron/s who rang David Hewlett's doorbell the other day: WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? Seriously! I mean, what process of logic led you to the conclusion that this would be an acceptable thing to do--indeed, not only acceptable, but laudable, with him inviting you in to hold Baz while he makes you tea? I would very much like to know this.

The good
1.) My BPAL samples came in the mail yesterday! I absolutely love "Crossroads"; it's a bit sweeter than I expected, but not overwhelmingly so. Right now I have "Gomorrah" on, and really, it almost smells too sexy for a person like me to be wearing. I mean, if I smelled it on any of you all, I would totally jump you. Both of them wear well; "Crossroads" stayed on a good part of the day, and I've had "Gomorrah" on for a few hours, and it seems to be holding up.

2.) It is so nice outside right now. We had storms come through last night (thank you, [personal profile] sheafrotherdon, for sending them to us), but they brought behind them warmth and sun and a breeze. In fact, as soon as I'm done with this and am done figuring out what the hell I want to say in this one paragraph, I'm taking myself, St. Augustine, and the dogs outside for some reading.

3.) It's now officially less than a week until SPN 4.20. Excuse me while I flail like an idiot.

The weird
1.) Related to the storms last night, Cowardly Dog (who is terrified of thunder) climbed into bed with me at 3AM or so and proceeded to shake violently for the next hour. Dean Winchester would have approved; it was totally like Magic Fingers. I, on the other hand, just wanted to sleep without the whimpering and honking.
