Because there is always room for a third: I recently had occasion to come across a summary of a study (abstract here) in which researchers discovered that increased levels of oxytocin, usually associated with the warm fuzzies of mother/child bonding and sweet, sweet afterglow, are also associated with a spike in levels of schadenfreude exhibited by victorious test subjects while contemplating the losses of their adversaries.
If I could only schadenfreude myself to orgasm, I would be fucking set for life.
